Oh yah, how do you celebrate Diwali? I have sum Guyanese friends but they really didn't explain it that well. I know (or think I know) you're not supposed to eat meat, rite?
..Ah well..coming to Diwali it's a vibrant festival with colors everywhere![ that's what i just love about this festival] google up diwali and check out the images too!
and it's usual diwali procedure, i think you know about it..morning we have a puja [i am sure you are familiar with it] and them awesome food! [ah! i get my calories on!!] and then relax!..by the time this is done it already 3:30 or 4:30 in the evening! but beleive me when you are in a festive the feeling of "Oh! i am tired", doesn't even even cross your mind!
evening we loads of fun by blasting of some crackers! yes, we do it by our own hands! It's pure fun cracking them!
spirits are high but still, we feel sleepy hence the end of a day!
btw Diwali is celebrated 3 days in most parts of India! The way it is celebrated varies in every state.. [See! One Festival and 100's of different procedures!]
Eating meat depends on the persons family, caste, background and atlast but not least his/her own personal choices.. i don't eat meat, smoke, drink alcohol as a few of my friends do. I am not interested in near future to even break my family traditions..
thank you!!
